Minutes of the Little River Airport Pilots Association 9/21/2002 We met in the airport office at 9am. Dick Ahrens, Tim Scully, Kathie Sarin, and Dave Thorpe were present We discussed the status of the parecel the county is trying to acquire at the approach end of 29. We discussed the pros and cons of the additional taxiways indicated as "future" on the draft ALP. On the one hand they might encourage folks to make forbidden intersection takeoffs, on the other hand, quie a few people miss the midfield turnoff and some taxiback which is dangerous. Someone reported that the park service has been sending people to the airport to exercise their dogs, mistakenly believing that the dog park is in operation already. We discussed the planting of grass for erosion control. We wondered if there would be a problem from attracting birds. There was also a brief discussion of grading. We talked a little about the upcoming Young Eagles event. We plan to meet again on Saturday October 19 at 9am in the airport office. We are meeting on the 3rd Saturday of each month. NOTE: if you send me an email about LRAPA affairs, please let me know if I can forward it to the rest of the members. Thanks. If you see any errors or omissions in the minutes, please let me know.
